Sebuah Renungan Untuk Suami Isteri

Wahai SUAMI renungkanlah
Pernikahan atau perkahwinan menyingkap tabir rahsia
Isteri yang kamu nikahi tidaklah semulia Khadijah
Tidaklah setaqwa Aisyah
Tidaklah setabah Fatimah
imagesCAZGBW94 Justeru,
Isterimu hanyalah wanita akhir zaman yang punya cita-cita menjadi solehah..
Pernikahan atau perkahwinan mengajar kita kewajiban bersama
Isteri menjadi tanah, kamu langit penaungnya
Isteri ladang tanaman, kamu pemagarnya imagesCAQHFS79
Isteri kiasan ternakan, kamu gembalanya
Isteri adalah murid, kamu mursyidnya
Isteri bagaikan anak kecil, kamu tempat bermanjanya
Saat isteri menjadi madu, kamu teguklah sepuasnya
Ketika isteri menjadi racun, kamulah penawar bisanya
Kamu bukanlah Rasulullah s.a.w
Pun bukanlah Sayyidina Ali Karamallahhuwajhah
Cuma suami akhir zaman yang berusaha menjadi SOLEH.
Amin.

Wahai ISTERI pula renungkanlah
Pernikahan atau perkahwinan membuka tabir rahsia
Suami yang menikahi kamu tidaklah semulia Muhammad s.a.w.
Tidaklah setaqwa Ibrahim imagesCATAAGB3
Tidak setabah Ayyub
Tidak segagah Musa
Apalagi setampan Yusuf
Justeru
Suamimu hanyalah lelaki akhir zamanyang punya cita-cita membangun keturunan yang soleh
Pernikahan atau perkahwinan mengajar kita kewajiban bersama
Suami menjadi pelindung, kamu penghuninya
Suami nakhoda kapal, kamu pengemudinya
Suami bagaikan pelakon yang nakal, kamu adalah penonton kenakalannya
Saat suami menjadi raja kamu nikmati anggur singgahsananya
Ketika suami menjadi bisa, kamulah penawar ubatnya
Seandainya suami bengis lagi lancang, sabarlah memperingatkannya
Amin.

imagesCA9EECVR Justeru itu wahai SUAMI dan ISTERI
Jangan menuntut terlalu tinggi
Seandainya diri sendiri jelas tidak berupaya
SUAMI dan ISTERI ingatlah:
Mengapa mendambakan isteri sehebat Khadijah
Andai diri tidak semulia Rasulullah s.a.w.
Tidak perlu isteri secantik Balqis
Andai diri tidak sehebat Sulaiman
Mengapa mengharapkan suami setampanYusuf
Seandai kasih tak setulus Zulaikha
Tidak perlu mencari suami seteguh Ibrahim
Andai diri tidak sekuat Hajar dan Sarah….

spare some time please

Washington DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes.  Joshua BellDuring that time approx 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.
4 minutes later: the violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the till and, without stopping, continued to walk.
6 minutes: A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.
10 minutes: A 3 year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly, as the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced them to move on.
45 minutes: The musician played. Only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money but continued to walk their normal pace.
He collected $32.
1 hour: He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

This is a real story. No one knew this but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before that Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.
Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities.

The questions raised: in a common place environment at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?
One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ... how many other things are we missing?

something to think about...

and… did you notice the date today???

09.09.09 when will it will be next??

what a talent…

A performance that touches one's heart. God gave us such talent and beauty.
Watch this amazing woman - winner of the Ukraine
talent show!

What Kseniya does is haunting and beautiful, especially when you understand the context. Look at the reaction the crowd has. They are deeply moved.

What she depicts is love and war, set amidst the turmoil of The Great Patriotic War, or as we call it in America, WWII. Ukraine was probably the area most devastated in the war, even more than Germany . It was a conflict that saw nearly one in four Ukrainians killed. A population of almost 42 million

lost between 8 and 11 million people, depending on which estimate one references. Ukraine represented almost 20 percent of all the causalities suffered during WWII. And that was after Stalin had killed millions during the manufactured famines before the war. It to this day touches every Ukrainian. That's the context of war memory that Kseniya reaches out to.

Map picture

The sand art of Kseniya is set to music that reflects the tone of what she is trying to project, and the combined effect works very well. Sand animators use simple grains of sand to tell a story, in a way many people haven't seen before.

What Kseniya Seminova does in a few short minutes is all the more memorable because  it is so fleeting. Once she is finished, the grains of sand go back into containers and the art is swept away. Sort of reminds us how fleeting our lives can be.

Annoying

Talk about PUBLIC NUISANCE!!! So many now, everywhere, all the time… uuurrgghhh!!!

This was just this morning… as I left the house there-a-bout an hour to noon, the unknown owner, decided to park and leave… Where to??? God knows. Whose? No idea!!

Park and go… but it’s a housing area and a busy road. Park nicely!!! Whoever you are, you not only made it difficult for me to park my car in front of my own house, you also made the road congested for parking almost in the middle of the road… and that was for six hours or so… grrr!

Next time, I’ll just wait and snap you!!

Food and Sahoor…

Writing this for the benefit of my non-Muslim friends and non-local readers…

A knowledge to all… it’s the holy month of Ramadan. Yesterday, 6th. September was mid month..  and it was the first time I missed it! I just slept through it, waking up only when Azan was in the air… oh! oh! oh!  I am really sorry. Our sahoor (last meal before we begin fasting) ends at 5:40am… and due to this, everyone in the house had to fast ‘extra hours’.

Therefore, to make it up, the next day, I made something special…

‘Prawns and Squid Tom Yam’DSC00065and

‘Scrambled Egg in Black Pepper Honey sauce’. DSC00066

Put in some garnishing for the soup… cut up some fresh tomatoes and cucumber, and serve it with steaming hot rice!!!

How is that for a meal at 5am??

Ramadan Mubarak folks!!

Love is a many splendored thing

A beautiful song that was a movie theme song first recorded by The Four Aces. Lyrics was written by Paul Frances Webster while the music was composed by Sammy Fain.

Love is a many splendored thing
It's the April rose that only grows in the early spring
Love is nature's way of giving a reason to be living
The golden crown that makes a man a king

Once on a high and windy hill
In the morning mist two lovers kissed and the world stood still
Then your fingers touched my silent heart and taught it how to sing
Yes true, love's a many splendored thing

You are My Sunshine

Written by Johnny Cash

The other night dear, as I lay sleepingImage.image005.gif@01C51FD9.8665F400
I dreamed I held you in my arms
But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken
So I hung my head and I cried.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
I'll always love you and make you happy,
If you will only say the same.
But if you leave me and love another,
You'll regret it all some day:
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
ATT768613 You told me once, dear, you really loved me
And no one else could come between.
But not you've left me and love another;
You have shattered all of my dreams:
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
In all my dreams, dear, you seem to leave me
When I awake my poor heart pains.
So when you come back and make me happy
I'll forgive you dear, I'll take all the blame.
ATT768609 You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away

HAVE YOU EVER REALLY LOVED A WOMAN

WRITERS BRYAN ADAMS, MICHAEL KAMEN, ROBERT JOHN “MUTT” LANGE; ALBUM LET THERE BE LOVE

To really love a woman, to understand her -imagesCA4MNZY6
you gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought, see every dream
And give her wings when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lying helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman,
Tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman, tell her that she’s the one
'Cause she needs somebody to tell her
That it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
Really really ever loved a woman?
imagesCA0F7KK2 To really love a woman, Let her hold you,
'Til you know how she needs to be touched
You’ve gotta breathe her, really taste her
'Til you can feel her in your blood
And when you see can your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman,
Tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman, tell her that she’s the one
She needs somebody to tell herimagesCAFI8CCR - Copy
That you’ll always be together
So tell me have you ever really,
Really really ever loved a woman?
You got to give her some faith, hold her tight
A little tenderness, gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin’ good care of you
You really gotta love your woman...
Then when you find yourself lyin’ helpless in her arms
You know you really love a womanimagesCAOZHIFZ
When you love a woman, tell her
That she’s really wanted
When you love a woman tell her that she’s the one
She needs somebody to tell her
That it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really,
Really really ever loved a woman?
Just tell me have you ever really,
Really, really, ever loved a woman?
Just tell me have you ever really,
Really, really, ever loved a woman?

The Opening Chapter

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day of Judgement. Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek. Show us the straight way. The way of those on whom Thou has bestowed Thy Grace, those whose portion is not wrath. And who go, not astray.

Al-Fatiha :1 – 7

* Alhamdulillah for Islam. Many asked me why Islam? Why not any others. This is why:

Quran to me is a life manual. A manual given to mankind through Islam. It is known that every other religion has their own.

In a workplace, in games, laws….. we normally follow the latest ‘rules’ and manuals. It applies… in life. So… why Islam?

Moon River

… a song written by Johnny Mercer (lyrics) and Henry Mancini (music). It was a song in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s where Audrey Hepburn was the leading actress.

*Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.*
