Georgie Porgie pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry
When the boys came out to play,
Georgie Porgie ran away.
Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Oh wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king?
The king was in his counting house counting out his money,
The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey
The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose!
Sudden urge to bake chicken pie… been years. Never took up baking class.. but lets try anyway. Alhamdulillah, it turned out well. So now everyone’s asking; “What’s your recipe?”. Well, did not refer to books, all intuition and I suppose TV. All those tv shows I’ve seen must have been a good teacher eh..
Recipe: the usual..
garlic, onion, a tinge of ginger… a little white pepper… I used Adabi’s soup seasoning to enhance the taste.. and of course salt and a pinch of sugar.. dice up potatoes, carrots and button mushrooms, add some green peas… geezzz.. now my filling is so colourful! Cook this first.. three quarter done and leave to cool.
I bought ready made pastry from the mart… save me the trouble and anxiety in that department…
I used my pie dish for this… fill two third of the filling I have cooked and covered…
don’t forget the yolk , to glaze the pastry!!!
yeehuu… a success, taste good too…
now the extra filling.. what to do??
This one is even better.. crispy crunchy pastry..
Three little kittens, They lost their mittens, And they began to cry,
Oh, mother, dear, We sadly fear, Our mittens we have lost.
What! Lost your mittens, You naughty kittens, Then you shall have no pie.
Meow, meow, Then you shall have no pie.
The three little kittens, They found their mittens, And they began to cry,
Oh, mother, dear, See here, see here, Our mittens we have found.
What, found your mittens, Then you're good kittens, And you shall have some pie.
Purr-rr, purr-rr, Then you shall have some pie.
Three little kittens, Put on their mittens, And soon ate up the pie.
Oh, mother, dear, We sadly fear, Our mittens we have soiled.
What! Soiled your mittens, You naughty kittens, And they began to sigh.
Meow, meow, And they began to sigh.
The three little kittens, They washed their mittens, And hung them out to dry.
Oh, mother, dear, Do you not hear, Our mittens we have washed?
What! Washed your mittens? Then you're good kittens! But I smell a rat close by.
Meow, meow, We smell a rat close by.
